Urban Afforestation
Community Tree park
In collaboration with "Nizhal", AATTRAL has started facilitating the development of community tree parks in several locations in Chennai. Our volunteers actively participate in the upkeep of these parks. Volunteers take part in weekly shramdaan activities like raising saplings, watering, adding manure, mulching, composting, seed collection and also closely monitor the growth of each sapling planted. Nizhal tree parks are a living example of the success of community engagement for a better environment.
Green Activation in Schools
AATTRAL promotes and facilitates greening of school campus with the planting of various shade giving indigenous tree saplings though students which gives them a hands on learning experience which they will replicate in their neighborhoods.
We also share posters and other educational tool to spread awareness about the rich heritage of indigenous trees among children and encourage them on carrying out these activities.

We Volunteer to plant saplings in various Streets of the City & Encourage volunteers to continue to take care of the young saplings and help in nurturing back lost tree cover and biodiversity!
Tree Walks
We organize a walk in your localities… to know more about the green sentinels in your sight.
We conduct various specialized walks and talks, linking trees to every aspect of life.
Currently there are 3 series of walks- the Margazhi walks in December/ January, the Chithirai walks in April and the Madras day walks in August.
